Pokemon Benayla Version chapter thirty one

Title: ROAD TO RED ROCK.



Taiora: So to recap, what's happened so far?

Ben: We got a bunch of Pokemon from the Safari Zone and now we're on the road again.

Taiora: I mean did you send them ALL to the computer?

Ben: I had six Pokemon going inside. So yes.

Taiora: Fair enough. But anyway, how long will it take to reach Pella?

Ben: Not sure. It's not that far away so it shouldn't take that long. But as always it's on foot.

Taiora: You wanna do it differently?

Ben: Hardly. I can't drive anyway.

Taiora: So another boring walk then?

Ben: Most likely.

Taiora: Not if I can help it.

Ben: And how can you?

(Taiora pulls out the bagpipes and plays them again)

Ben:....................................

Taiora: Wait for it.

(Dead silence)

Ben: Wait for what?

Taiora: Never mind.

Ben: Can we go then?

Taiora: Fine.

(The walk to Pella begins)

Taiora: And where did Shayla go off to now? I didn't see her when we left.

Ben: I didn't either. I assume she's continued her Journey as well.

Taiora: On that note, what do you think is up with her? The fact that she blew you off before we met despite what you two went through, well, that and how she's acted now. There's no doubt about....

(Ben stops walking)

Ben: I get it. She's obviously hiding something again.

Taiora: And what is that you think?

Ben: That's what I'm afraid of. Whatever that something is, it feels like I'm going to lose her all over again.

Taiora: So what? You're not going to go for what you need to because you're scared?

Ben: No. Just the opposite.

Taiora: What then?

Ben: Memorize this for me. That detour I mentioned a while ago, we're coming up on it once we get there. I wasn't going to tell you this until then but I was planning to go to Ottumwa anyway. If she is hiding something, if I might lose her again, THIS might turn that around.

(He hands Taiora a sheet of paper)

Taiora thinking: This is.....

(He looks at Ben)

Taiora: So THIS is why you're saving Ottumwa for last. I get it now.

Ben: That and Shayla's warning about the Gym Leader's power. We need to get as strong as possible. We'll beat the Gym Leader in Pella and then the one in Oskaloosa.

Taiora: And right before our final Gym Battle?

Ben: You got it. We're doing THAT.

Taiora: Sounds good.

(He eats the paper)

Ben: I said MEMORIZE it!!

Taiora: I heard you.

Ben: But.....Never mind.

Taiora: It sounds better than it tastes.

Ben: So it does. Let's go.

(As they continue walking an explosion is heard)

Taiora: What the.....!?

Ben: Let's go.

(They rush to the area, finding a guy and his Weepinbell blown to the ground)

Ben: What the hell is going on?

(They rush to those that were defeated)

Taiora: You okay man?

Weepinbell: My Master and I just got our asses kicked, by a brat.

Taiora: What?

Weepinbell: They refuse to allow anyone to pass without defeating them in a one on one Pokemon Battle, so this guy brought me here. But, you can see how well that went. We were defeated by the first one too.

(Weepinbell thrusts itself up, facing the direction he was blown from)

Weepinbell: YOU JERKS CAN SUCK IT DRY!!

(He drags his Trainer away)

Ben: I guess that means....

Taiora: If we intend to advance any further we have to take it up with these idiots.

Ben: Unfortunately it looks that way my friend.

(They enter the woods, being approached by a kid)

Kid: This is Morning Woods. In order to get through you must defeat all five of us with your Pokemon. You think you're up for it?

Ben: Yeah. I do actually.

Kid: You think you're going to win with that yellow rodent?

Ben: I'm going to defeat you guys, with my FRIEND.

Kid: Very well.

(He unleashes a Rattata)

Kid: Unlike your rodent mine is in the top percentage.

Taiora: Did you seriously just say that?

(Rattata hisses loudly)

Ben: Here we go Taiora.

(He approaches Rattata)

Ben: Skull Bash.

(Taiora lowers his head)

Kid: Tackle and Quick Attack.

(Rattata attacks Taiora twice)

Ben: Now!

(Taiora Skull Bash's Rattata)

Ben: Finish it!

(Taiora defeats Rattata with Thunderbolt)

Taiora: Top percentage huh?

Kid: You may advance.

(They continue)

Taiora: So I take it you'll use me for the rest of this challenge?

Ben: Not sure.

(A Shuriken is thrown between them)

Taiora: Damn it.

Kid: I'm the second Trainer. So now it's serious.

(He unleashes a Krabby)

Ben: Alright then. Let's do this!

(He unleashes his Ivysaur)

Fern: Yeah!!

Ben: Vine Whip.

(Krabby grabs Vine Whip and Taiora begins skipping rope between them)

Ben: Damn you. Fern.

(Taiora leaves as Fern uses Razor Leaf, defeating Krabby)

Kid:........You may continue.

(Fern is recalled and the walk goes on)

Taiora: So then, depending on what she's hiding, what will you do once you learn what that is?

Ben: All I care about is being with her. So I'll react to the current situation accordingly.

Taiora: Well like I said I'll help you with this. But....Not that I say it'd be right, but what if....

Ben: What's on your mind?

Taiora: Well....

(Rock Slide!!)

Ben: Damn you.

(They evade as rocks begin falling)

Ben: That was fast.

Taiora: Yeah.

(A child with a Sandshrew appears)

Kid: I'm the third Trainer out here.

Ben: Don!!

(He unleashes his Squirtle)

Ben: Water Gun.

(Sandshrew evades it)

Kid: Swift.

(Don is hit with Swift)

Ben: Body Slam it!

(Don jumps and Body Slams Sandshrew)

Kid: I got a feeling.

Sandshrew(Gets up): That tonight's gonna be a good night.

(Sandshrew evolves into Sandslash)

Don: OH COME ON!!

Ben: Bite it!

(Don bites Sandslash, making it Flinch)

Ben: Water Gun again!

(Don defeats Sandslash with Water Gun)

Don: Defeated after evolving, how weak.

(Sandslash and Don are returned to their Pokeballs and the walk continues)

Ben: What was it you were saying before?

Taiora: I forgot, actually.

Ben: Well anyway, we'll be seeing Shayla again soon enough. But first off we need to reach Pella for the Gym Battle.

Taiora: I hear you. But if my math is correct we have two more of these idiots to deal with.

Ben: Yeah.

Taiora: That was fast.

Ben: What?

Taiora: The fourth one's here.

Ben: Damn it.

Voice: Sharp instincts.

Ben: What?

(Another Trainer appears)

Trainer: I have heard that Pokemon can sense each other if their senses are sharp enough. But you're something special, Pikachu.

Ben: I take it you're the fourth contest Trainer.

Trainer: Let's go.

(He unleashes a Ditto)

Ben: Huh?

Ben's Pokedex: Ditto, The Transform Pokemon. In battle it alters its DNA to Transform into its opponent. This enables it to use the same Moves as well.

Ben: Taiora.

(Taiora steps forth)

Ben: Thunderbolt.

(Taiora electrocutes Ditto, who just sits there)

Trainer: Do it.

(Ditto Transforms into a Pikachu)

Ben/Trainer: Thunderbolt!

(Both Thunderbolts clash)

Ben/Trainer: Skull Bash.

(Both Pokemon lower their heads and then Skull Bash each other)

Ben thinking: Damn it, this is going nowhere. Wait.

Ben: Thunderbolt.

Trainer: You too.

(Taiora's Thunderbolt blows through Ditto's and strikes it, defeating the Normal Type. Ditto resumes its original form)

Trainer: I did my best. I have no regrets.

(He recalls ditto)

Ben: Let's go.

(They continue once more)

Ben: That leaves one more. The sun is setting now though.

Taiora: So are we camping out now?

Ben: It would appear that way. I don't think we can reach Pella on foot before the light disappears from the sky.

Taiora: Tell me something I don't know.

Ben thinking: If we're like this, I wonder how Shayla's doing.

Taiora: So....You got a sleeping bag?

Ben: One.

Taiora:.........

(The last Trainer appears)

Trainer: I'm the last one, defeat me to make it out of here alive.

(He unleashes a Mankey)

Taiora thinking: Not one of these things again.

Ben: Alright, come on Ember.

(He unleashes his Charmander)

Ben: Flamethrower.

(Ember blasts Mankey with fire)

Trainer: One attack won't be enough to defeat My Pokemon, see.

(Mankey evolves into Primeape)

Trainer: Throw it.

(It Seismic Tosses Ember)

Ben: Dragon Rage.

(Ember fires Dragon Rage)

Trainer: Karate Chop.

(Primeape Karate Chops Ember)

Ember: Damn it.

(Ember's tail flame's heat increases)

Ben: I feel you my friend, hit it with Rage.

(Ember begins beating Primeape up using Rage, eventually defeating it)

Trainer: Return.

(He recalls Primeape)

Trainer: You've defeated the five of us. You may pass.

(Ben recalls Ember and continues to the exit)

Ben: The sun's setting now, once we leave here let's camp out.

Taiora: Agreed.

(They see someone waiting at the end of the forest)

Ben: What the....

(Shayla appears in front of them)

Ben: Shayla?!

Taiora: What do you want?

Shayla: I was thinking, it's about time for another Battle. Don't you think?

Ben: Yeah. I do.

Taiora: Are you kidding me? We just fought five battles in a row.

Shayla: So did I.

Ben: Let's go Taiora!!
