My apologies for the wait, here's the dozenth chapter.

Characters:

If you've seen the previous chapters you at least should know who everyone is by now. But I talked to someone who commented on the previous chapter who hadn't seen any of them. So I'll keep these bios and those who can afford to can just skip them if they're annoying.

Humans:

Ben Lagnese:
A Pokemon Trainer on his Journey in Iowa aiming to become a Pokemon Master (And marry his true love after that's been accomplished).

Shayla Maxwell:
Ben's Rival Trainer. And the (One sided) true love mentioned on his bio.

Paul Bird:
The funniest Teacher I have ever had.

Pokemon:

Ben's Pokemon:

Taiora:
Ben's Pikachu. His starter Pokemon and most loyal friend.

Wormy:
A Butterfree with a dream of being a Rock Star for some reason.

Harold:
A Poliwag captured in Clive River. The Riley Freeman of the team.

Fern:
Ben's Bulbasaur. While decrying his masters quest for love he follows Ben on his master quest.

Ember:
Ben's Charmander. Similarly to Fern the Lizard Pokemon follows Ben only for the sake of the main event.

Don:
Ben's Squirtle. Unlike his other Pokemon Don joined Ben for the sake of escaping the Police, rather than any desire to fight for his way of life.

Taco:
Ben's Oddish that was captured in the previous chapter, and was sent to an unspecified Personal Computer afterward.

Shayla's Pokemon:

Eevee:
Shayla's Starter Pokemon and Taiora's Rival.

Nidoran:
The first Pokemon Shayla captured. It hasn't been seen since its debut.

Abra:
Another Pokemon of Ben's Rival's that also hasn't been seen since the first time it appeared.

Vulpix:
Shayla's favorite Pokemon of all.

To recap, last time Ben started down the road again for his next Gym Battle. On the way there he stops for a lunch break and his Charmander reveals his “Benayla Remix” of “Gotta Catch 'Em All” which is read out loud.

At the end of the day Ben captured his seventh Pokemon. An Oddish which he nicknamed “Taco” which was immediately sent to a Personal Computer after being captured. Now he searches for that machine to obtain his Pokemon.

Title: MYSTERY AT THE SAFE HOUSE.

Having captured his seventh Pokemon our eighteen year old hero is in search of the Pokeball that was just sent to a computer for some reason.

Taiora: When it was sent did the Pokedex tell you where the computer is?

Ben: No. I have absolutely no idea where it went.

Taiora: So what now?

Ben: We search for it.

Taiora: But you just said you have no idea where it is.

Ben: That doesn't change the fact that my Pokemon is there. I'll still find it.

Taiora: Why did it get sent there anyway?

Ben: Beats the hell out of me.

Ben's Pokedex: At the most Pokemon Trainers can only carry a maximum of six Pokemon. Anymore Pokemon captured will automatically be sent to the nearest Personal Computer.

Taiora: So it just sent your Pokeball to a random computer?

Ben: It sounds like there are specific computers around Iowa that take things like this.

Taiora: I see.

Ben: So let's see now.

Taiora: See what?

Ben: The nearest of these computers to this location.

Taiora: We're in the middle of nowhere. It's probably at least five miles away.

Ben: Doesn't matter.

Taiora: So we keep walking then?

Ben: Not exactly.

(He looks to the right)

Ben: Come on.

Taiora: Huh?

(They resume their aimless search)

Taiora: So what if this takes us off course from our way to Idianola?

Ben: It wont, we're going that way now.

Taiora: So you're just continuing the path and hoping we'll find where Taco ended up?

Ben: Not quite.

Taiora: Then what the hell are we doing?!?

Ben: Taking a detour. What else?

Taiora: I thought the only detour we were going to take would be you singing your remix.

Ben: I didn't predict this happening.

Taiora: Whatever.

Ben: You think anyone around here knows where it is?

Taiora: Wanna ask for directions?

Ben: Obviously.

(They stop at a nearby gas station store to stock up on supplies. Taiora carrying the soda)

Ben: Have everything?

Taiora: I should be asking you that.

Ben: Whatever.

Clerk: Will that be everything gentlemen?

Ben: One thing. Do you know anything about a “computer” being nearby?

Clerk: You're a Pokemon Trainer aren't you lad?

Ben: Yeah.

Clerk: What you seek is half a mile ahead of here. Just keep walking until you see an old cabin, there's the computer you speak of.

Ben: Thanks.

(They leave and continue the path)

Taiora: But wait a minute. If you can only have six Pokemon on hand why're you look for your seventh if you cant keep it?

Ben: I'm going to make an exchange.

Taiora: And who goes inside the box?

Ben: Since you always complain about his moosery it'll be Harold.

Taiora: Very good call.

Ben: And anyway Taiora, after we get there we'll reach the Des Moines River we'll do some training there before getting to Indionola.

Taiora: Understood.

Ben: At any rate it'd be best if we could get there as quickly as possible so-

(An explosion is heard)

Taiora: What the hell?

(Water starts pouring down from above)

Ben: It came from the Des Moines River. Come on.

Taiora: Right.

(They head for it)

Ben: What's going on?

(An injured small child crawls near them)

Taiora: What happened?

Kid: We were paddle boarding, I saw a red, a red fishy in the water. But when I tried to pet it. It morphed into a monster.

Taiora: Red what?

Ben: Hmm....

Ben's Pokedex: Magikarp. The Fish Pokemon. Despite its uselessness in battle it can survive in even the most polluted water. It primarily swims up river.

Kid: That's what it was, but now.

(A loud roar is heard)

Taiora: I'm starting to freak out now.

(A Gyarados emerges from Des Moines River)

Kid: There it is. MOMMY!!

(He flees in fear)

Taiora: What is that thing?!

Ben's Pokedex: Gyarados, The Atrocious Pokemon, and the evolved form of Magikarp. Structural changes to the brain are said to cause this Pokemon's aggressive nature. Once its rampage begins it won't stop until everything around it has been burned to the ground.

(The Gyarados looks down at Ben and Taiora)

Taiora: Oh hell.

Ben: Come on Taiora, if it's newly evolved it must be on a lower Level than you are. It's weaker than you.

Taiora: Fine.

(Gyarados roars loudly)

Taiora: BRING IT ON WATER MONSTER!!

Gyarados(Charges Dragon Rage): RAAAAAAAW!

Ben: Thunderbolt.

(Clash)

Ben: Use it again.

Taiora: Right.

(Taiora jumps onto Gyarados and climbs up it)

Ben: Watch out Taiora!

(Gyarados attempts to bite Taiora, who dodges it. Causing Gyarados to bite itself)

Ben: Now Thunderbolt again!!

(Taiora Thunderbolts Gyarados)

Ben: Did that work?

(Gyarados falls onto the ground in pain)

Taiora: I defeated it.

Ben: Good. Another Pokemon to send to the Personal Computer.

Taiora: You cannot be serious.

Shayla: Not quite.

Ben: Huh?

(She appears and throws a Pokeball at Gyarados, capturing it)

Taiora: What the hell?

Shayla: I see you guys are over here too. Knowing you I'm guessing you came to train.

Ben: Actually I'm looking for the computer my Pokemon was sent too.

Shayla: It's over there.

Taiora: Huh?

Shayla: I stopped by Iowa's Pokemon Storage System before coming here. And then I saw that Gyarados spring up.

Ben: Thanks.

Taiora: She just captured the Pokemon I defeated. Thanks?

Ben: Come on Taiora.

(They leave)

Taiora: So where are we going exactly?

Ben: I see a Cabin down there. I'm guessing that's it.

Taiora: Right.

(They enter said cottage)

Ben: Hello?

Taiora: Anybody home?

(Dead silence)

Ben: Well I don't see a computer.

Voice: Over in here?

Taiora: Who said that?

Ben: It came from over there.

(They enter another room and find a mostly bald man near a computer)

Ben: Mister Bird?

Bird: Well if it isn't Ben Lagnese. I thought you moved away.

Ben: I came back.

Taiora: You know this guy?

Ben: He's a teacher of mine from High School.

Taiora: Uh-huh.

Bird: And I see you have a Pikachu with you.

Taiora: Yeah. And I see you've got the computer we're looking for.

Bird: Actually I'm just house sitting while the storage systems manager is away. I take it a Pokemon of yours was sent here?

Ben: Yeah.

Taiora: An Oddish named Taco.

Bird: Ah yes. Taco. The first Pokemon that got sent here after I arrived.

Ben: So can I have it?

Bird: Well the fact that it was sent here means you have six Pokemon already. If you want Taco you need to deposit another Pokemon.

Ben: Here. It's a Poliwag I captured.

(Ben switches Harold for Taco)

Bird: Alright then my boy. If you want to switch Pokemon just find a local computer and connect your Pokedex to it.

Ben: Thanks. I'll be off now.

Bird: Where to?

Ben: Idianola. For my fourth Gym badge.

Bird: I see. Well good luck then. Look after this boy Pikachu. Okay?

Taiora: Yeah.

Ben: Let's go.

Taiora: Coming.

Ben: When my Journey's over I'll come say hi to you and everyone from school. For now tell Allison I said hi.

Bird: You got it.

(They leave)

Taiora: And who's Allison?

Ben: Nobody that you know.

Taiora: Obviously.

Ben: Alright. On to Indianola.

Taiora: I thought you said we'd start training around here.

Ben: For you battling Gyarados was enough.

Taiora: Whatever. That's your way of saying there isn't time to I suppose.

Ben: The next time we see Shayla we'll have a full six on six battle.

Taiora: Well you've got two Pokemon you've never used in battle.

Ben: Then let's do something before we get there.

Taiora: Huh?

Ben: You'll see.

Taiora: Fine.

After a particularly boring day on their Journey Ben and his Pikachu recovered their newest comrade after battling a sea monster in a river. But what does Ben speak of as a training method? Find out in the very next chapter of Pokemon Benayla Version.
