Pokemon Benayla Version chapter twenty three

Here you go once again my friends, the tale that will eventually lead to a bullet in the ass of an ass.




Title: SOUL EMOTION!!



Having continued their venture into the darkness, our hero's soon find themselves alone once again.


Ben: It's been twenty minutes. Has the Iphone detected anything?

Taiora: No, nothing since last time so far.

Scott: Well if we don't find any now that ghost at the end will show up when we get there.

Ben: Yeah.

Taiora: The thing about that ghost though. It feels even scarier than the others.

Fido: Maybe it's a real ghost then.

Ben: The Iphone will be the judge of that when we find it again.

Scott: Yeah.

Taiora: I'll never understand the reliance you humans have on this dumb ass technology.

Ben: I honestly don't care about it. It's just useful in this situation.

Scott: I second that. Without it we wouldn't be able to accomplish any of this anyway.

Taiora: Fair enough. Hang on.

Ben: What?

Taiora: We've got something else approaching. It isn't human.

Ben: No mistake.

Scott: A Pokemon.

Ben: Here we go, Taiora.

Taiora: I know.

(Another Gastly appears before them)

Ben: Thunder Shock!

(Taiora electrocutes Gastly)

Gastly: What the hell?

Gastly thinking: My disguise isn't working. They must have that damned technology. Damned humans.

(It turns around and Fido faces it)

Taiora: Once more!

(He Thunder Shocks Gastly again)

Ben: Awesome Taiora! Now then!!

(He throws a Pokeball at Gastly, capturing it)

Ben: Perfect.

(He picks the Pokeball up)

Scott: Perfect. Now let's get somewhere. Unleash it and ask it what's going on.

Taiora: What do you mean?

Ben: He means why these ghosts showed up here in the first place and are hiding the way they are. Alright. Give us the answers we seek. Come out Casper!!

(He unleashes Gastly)

Gastly: What did you just call me?

Ben: Alright. We've heard you and countless others have been appearing here for a while and disguising yourselves like this. That's why these Channelers are here. But the question is why?

Taiora: Yeah.

Casper: Simple actually. We all came here for protection.

Scott: From?

Casper: Well, first off Pokemon of my species are vulnerable to the wind since we're made of gas. So....

Ben: This location isn't saving you from that. Get to the point.

Casper: We resonated with that other ghost nearby. The ability to disguise us originated with that. As long as we're hear we can do the same thing. Unless of course your damned technology bypasses that.

Scott: Technology is incredible. Of course.

Ben: Is there anything in particular you're hiding from?

Casper: Humans like you. But then, among those who have been captured by these Channelers. It would appear things have gone to hell.

Taiora: What do you mean?

Casper: As soon as they were able to capture us they started battling between each other. Training I guess. And a few of those captured evolved. Then these fools started a certain practice.  

Ben: A certain practice?

Taiora: Trading I bet.

Casper: Is that what you humans call it? Yeah, they were exchanging those of us they captured with each other. I have no idea how but. That got them to evolve again.

Ben's Pokedex: Four Pokemon have been discovered to only evolve when they are traded between Trainers. These Pokemon will not evolve under any other circumstance, however the reason they do so under this condition is completely unknown.

Casper: And when that happened, these humans began acting weirdly. Exactly as if, they had lost their sanity.

Ben: We saw that earlier. Maybe.

Scott: I have a theory. Maybe it's possible that the ghosts are pissed that these Channelers are messing with them.

Taiora: So now they're retaliating.

Casper: A likely guess. I don't like these guys. I'll stay with you if you can help us get rid of them.

Scott: On one condition.

Casper: What?

Scott: Leave this cemetery. The reason we're here is to cast out that ghost you sensed when you came here. With it gone you wont be able to hide anymore anyway.

Ben: This place is for humans visiting their deceased pets and Pokemon.

Casper: So what? You humans are the ones bothering us.

Ben: No. Humans and Pokemon need each other. We shouldn't fight over anything. If you want to stay here after all of this is done that's fine but don't bother anyone. Does that sound fair?

Casper: Well since you captured me I'll be coming with you. So I guess it doesn't matter to me specifically either way.

Ben: Good. Let's go.

Taiora: Yeah.

(The walk continues, Casper floating ahead of them)

Scott: Hey, I've been meaning to ask you guys. Where are you from anyway?

Ben: We came from Waukee. We're on our Journey for Iowa's Pokemon League.

Taiora: But that's not his only goal.

Casper: So you're just another one going for the top right? If I remember correctly it's been years since anyone has defeated Iowa's Elite Four. And only a handful of people to begin with have been able to do that at all throughout this State's history.

Taiora: And you know this how?

Casper: I've lived here my whole life. Information isn't difficult to obtain in a small State like this.

Scott: Yeah. You're right. You said your name was Ben right? What's your other goal?

Ben: Well....

Taiora: That's simple, the girl he has loved for years, his Rival Trainer actually. My Trainer Benayla here's going to turn the Elite Four into roadkill, become a Pokemon Master and then marry Shayla Maxwell. Isn't that right my friend?

Ben: Geez Taiora. For a Pikachu you sure enjoy talking.

Taiora: What does THAT mean?

Ben: And anyway I can't turn anyone into roadkill without a car. Which I'll never use.

Taiora: It was a figure of speech.

Scott: I see. So you've got a girlfriend right?

Casper: Is she hot?

Ben: Technically she isn't my girlfriend and....Why does that matter?

Casper: I'm guessing she isn't then.

Ben: Of course she is Damn it!!

Scott: Oh whatever. I'll let you get back to your sweetheart as soon as we're done here. I'll even lend you Fido just in case she's a dog lover.

Ben: What....Does that even mean?

Fido: Oh nothing. I believe flowers would be more effective anyway.

Ben: Guys....Just shut up.

Casper: You my friend have your own self ahead of you. In addition to your two goals.

Taiora: What does THAT mean?

Casper: It means we've arrived. Those Channelers appear to have disappeared. But....

Taiora: Damn it....

Fido: Not yet....No....

Ben: What's the matter?

Casper: I sense it too. IT'S HERE!!

Ben: Don't tell me.

Scott: That Ghost.

Casper: You humans are dull. Pokemon can clearly sense things you can't. We're the only ones helping YOU.

Ben: If that's all you have to say. Come back.

(Casper is returned to his Pokeball)

Ben: What does the Iphone say?

Taiora: Nothing. But I sense it.

Scott: Look up there.

(They see Marowak's Grave)

Ben: Last night that thing appeared to us as soon as we got there. Let's go.

(They rush to it)

Ben: Taiora.

Taiora: Yeah. There's no mistake.

(The Iphone sounds)

Ghost: Begone. Intruders.

(It appears to them again)

Ghost: GET OUT!! LEAVE THIS PLACE!!

Ben: Taiora!! The Iphone.

(He points the Iphone at the ghost, revealing it to be Marowak's ghost)

Taiora: What the hell?

(The ghost retakes its real form)

Scott: Marowak....

Marowak: Get away from here!!

Taiora: What're you talking about? Scott's Grandfather is beyond this point. We're going to find him.

Marowak: Damn you!!

(Taiora Thunderbolts Marowak, which is nullified)

Taiora: Huh?

Ben: Your attacks aren't going to work on it.

Taiora: Are real ghosts Immune to all attacks?

Fido: No you idiot. Even in death Marowak retains her Type. Ground Type Pokemon are Immune to Electric Type attacks.

Taiora: SAY WHAT? This is the first time I'm hearing that!!

Ben: We have no choice. DON!!

(He unleashes his Squirtle)

Ben: Water Gun!

(Don uses Withdraw)

Ben: OH COME ON!!

Don(From within his shell): I'm afraid of ghosts. Let me know when it's over.

Ben: Damn it.

(He recalls Don)

Ben: Taiora, Skull Bash!!

(Taiora lowers his head)

Marowak: If you refuse to listen I'll have to take you down.

(Marowak uses Focus Energy)

Ben: Ram it.

(Taiora Skull Bashes Marowak)

Taiora thinking: That worked.

(Marowak uses Bone Club on Taiora)

Taiora: And THAT really hurt.

Ben: So I was right. Despite being a Ghost it's still vulnerable to Normal Type attacks.

Taiora: But that won't get us anywhere. Its got a Type Advantage.

Scott: And on top of that she used Focus Energy.

Ben thinking: Damn you.

Taiora: Marowak!! We're here to retrieve your owner!! So please let us through.

Marowak:........

Taiora:..........

Marowak: GET OUT!! LEAVE THIS PLACE!!

Taiora: Are you even listening to me?!

Scott: Enough. Marowak's spirit is tortured, it was killed and died a vain death. We aren't able to free it from its rage.

Marowak: TAKE THIS!!

(As the Marowak Ghost lunges toward Taiora a bone is thrown between them)

Taiora: Huh?

Marowak: ?!

(Cubone appears)

Scott thinking: But YOU are.

Marowak: It's you....

Cubone: That was Bonemerang mother. The Move you were teaching me before we were ambushed the day you died remember? I know it's what you wanted so I mastered it after that day. I've never once forgotten about you, Mother.

Marowak: Cubone....

Cubone: MOM!!

(He runs up to her spirit, hugging her)

Marowak: Scott, This child is the reason I wasn't able to move on. Because I was killed leaving him behind. But now that I know he'll be fine. I can finally.....

(Marowak's Ghost disappears)

Cubone: Goodbye. My mother.

Ben's Pokedex: The Ghost was the restless spirit of Cubone's mother. The mother's spirit was calmed. It departed to the afterlife.

Ben: Well then. Let's go.

Scott: Word.

(They continue walking and find a Grave House)

Ben: I hear singing coming from inside of that place.

Cubone: I know those voices, They're all Cubone.

(They enter the Grave House, finding a circle of singing Cubone with Scott's Grandfather in the middle of it)

Cubones(Singing): “When you walk away, you don't hear me say. Pleeeeeasse, oh baby, don't go. Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight, it's hard to let it go”.

Ben: What's going on?

(Scott's Grandfather raises his hand and the singing stops)

Scott: Grandpa.

Grandfather: Hello there boys. Sorry if I worried you, but I actually came here to calm Marowak's spirit. I felt it all the way from my house so I knew there was something wrong.

Ben: But then.

Grandfather: It appears that Marowak's soul has finally left us. These Cubone were just in the area, I thought they needed some company.

Ben: I see.

Grandfather: And who is this young lad, Scott?

Scott: This is Ben and his Pikachu Taiora, they came with me once they heard about what happened. We took on Marowak's Ghost ourselves. But she didn't disappear until Cubone here came along.

Grandfather: Is that right?

Cubone: I finally mastered the Move my mother showed me back then.

Grandfather: I see, good for you then.

(He stands up)

Grandfather: Sorry kids but I have to go now. Bye everyone.

(They return to his house)

Grandfather: Ben was it? You can call me Mr. Novora. I want to thank you for going through the trouble you did helping us.

Ben: You don't need to do that. I captured a Pokemon out here anyway. So let's call that even.

Novora: No. There's something I want you to take with you.

Ben: Huh?

(He opens a giant box and pulls out a set of Bagpipes)

Novora: This was given to me long ago by someone I knew. This musical instrument can awaken any Pokemon. As such it will come in handy during your travels.

Taiora: Come to think of it we could've used something like this before.

Novora: Yes. I've heard Snorlax have been loafing around everywhere recently. So take this.

Ben: Thanks.

(He packs the Bagpipes up into his backpack)

Ben: Thanks for everything. I'll never forget your help.

Novora: Right back at you. Now go complete your Journey.

Ben: Thanks.

(He and Taiora leave)

Taiora: So I take it we're going to Indianola now?

Ben: Yeah. Our fourth Gym Battle is waiting for us there.

Taiora: Huh?

(They turn around and see Cubone standing there)

Ben: What's up friend?

Cubone: I've decided. I want to come with you guys.

Taiora: You sure about that?

Cubone: Yeah. You've got the kind of willpower I saw in my mother. You are....

Ben: Say no more. Come here.

(Cubone walks over to them)

Ben: I'll be more than happy to take you with us. But you have to be strong. Alright?

Cubone: Yeah. I will be.

Taiora: Hey. You can call him “Boner”.

Cubone: No!! I refuse to be called anything vulgar.

Ben: Fair enough.....

Taiora:......BoneHEAD?

Cubone: Why me?
